Working group set up for discussing issues of strengthening church unity holds its session on the eve of celebrating 5th anniversary of the Act of Canonical Communion
On 14 May 2012, the Lithuanian version of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill’s book Freedom and Responsibility: In Search of Harmony. Human Rights and Personal Dignity was presented at Seimas Palace of the Republic of Lithuania.
On May 13, they celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the cathedral church of the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Vilnius. They were assisted by the brethren of the monastery. Among the worshippers was the head of the Russian diplomatic mission in Lithuania.
“Dialogue: Church, Society, State” photo exhibition opened at the Gallery of Classical Photography in Moscow on 9 November 2011. The viewers can be introduced to the primatial ministry of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia by looking at 150 photos presented by the press office of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church and the photobank of RIA ‘Novosti’.

In an interview in the Serbian newspaper Politika published on 31 August 2011 with the chairman of the Department for External Church Relations Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk questions of inter-Orthodox and inter-Christian relations, the topic of the Church’s witness to the contemporary world and the situation in the region of Kosovo were touched upon
Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, made a journey to the Middle East in the end of August. He visited three ancient Local Churches and met with their Primates. Upon returning to Moscow, he spoke about his visit to “Interfax-Religion.”

TV programme “The Church and the World” broadcast on 23 July 2011 was dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR).
On July 17, 2011, the commemoration day of the Holy Royal Passion-bearers, Metropolitan Hilarion, head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for external church relations, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the church of Our Lady the Joy to All the Afflicted in Moscow.
